Regional Clean Air Champion for Northern Ireland, Dr Neil Rowland, will be organising a one day workshop on Clean Air and Low Emission Zones to be held in Belfast. With support from Queen’s University Belfast and the Clean Air Programme, this workshop will provide decision-makers in Northern Ireland with actionable insight into the design, implementation and effectiveness of Clean Air Zones (CAZ) and Low Emission Zones (LEZ), drawing on the latest scientific evidence. It will also explore how they may evolve in the future as the vehicle fleet and the wider urban environment evolves. This event is timely as the Northern Ireland Executive takes forward its first ever Clean Air Strategy which could see the introduction of urban transport measures such as Clean Air or Low Emission Zones.
