Clean Air Champion for Scotland and University of Stirling expert on air pollution, Dr Heather Price has marked Clean Air Day 2023 by suggesting small steps we can all take to tackle the global crisis of air pollution.
Seven million premature deaths every year are caused by air pollution.
The World Health Organisation data shows that 99% of the global population breathe air that exceeds WHO guideline limits.
Dr Price said: “Most of the health burden of air pollution is borne by vulnerable groups, including children, older people, those living in disadvantaged areas with higher air pollution and those living with health conditions like asthma.”
